Another new house (Heart House) - closing Feb.27th 2009

I am really rather excited about this project. This house is ugly and smells like a herd of wild cats lived here, but it literally has not been touched since it was built. It comes complete with green carpet and 70’s retro inspired paneling in the entrance. I can see this house transformed. It will be amazing once complete and will offer 4 bedrooms 2 bathrooms. Listing price will be somewhere between 129-139 depending on how far I go with the interior details. My current plan is to remove the wall that seperates the kitchen and living room and have an island custom built. I always go back with hardwood floors (the kind you actually sand and finish) instead of putting down laminate (I feel a little sick even saying that word) or a prefinished snap together like lego floor.
I have recently found a great place to do custom cabinets that is reasonable on custom work. I also found a FABULOUS place this weekend in KCKS that sells granite (great quality 3cm bullnose straights) for 200-425 per piece. Fabrication cost is more than the granite!

k…I am way late getting to the house and they need insulation…bbl.

Progress Update on Misty House

Filed under: For Sale — Tiffany @ 9:50 am

I guess each house I have bought has had a nickname and this one shall be deemed “Misty House”…
I know I need to write more but during one of these projects, I just seem to meet myself coming and going and rarely find time to do much else, I guess you could say that is poor personal time management =)
Misty house is coming along beautifully, this house is presenting challenges that I have not experienced before like vaulting a ceiling and doing a full roof tear off. I will be taking pictures during the roof and I am going to post some pictures of the vaulting process.

I’ll write a bit more later after I get done uploading all of these pictures.
